Diabetes: when diabetes is not well attended to, it can lead to many complications along the line, among which is kidney damage.- Hypertension: when hypertension is not appropriately addressed, it can cause kidney damage too; and once the kidneys are affected, blood pressure continues to go even higher while PCV(blood volume) continues to go down. It then becomes a vicious cycle of mutually reinforcing effects.

Long Term use of certain medication: (e.g. PARACETAMOL). Many people do not realize that Paracetamol is not meant for-long term use. If it is used long-term, it can cause kidney damage. There are quite a number of pharmaceutical drugs out there that can exert the same adverse effects on our kidneys. You need to always read the label of every medication you are on to acquaint yourself with possible side effects or adverse effects that the drug might bring on.
Abuse of Herbs: Even though herbs are gentler on the body than chemicals or pharmaceuticals, yet the misuse of even some herbal products too can lead to kidney damage. Therefore we must be professionally guided even in our use of herbal supplements.
- Certain Cosmetics(containing toxic substances that can be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream). Many ingredients in personal care products have been linked to health disruptions – e.g. Parabens (Methyl, Propyl, Ethyl, Butyl), Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG4-200), Diethanolamine (DEA), Monoethanolamine (MEA), Triethanolamine (TEA), PABA (Avobenzone, Benzophenone, Methoxycinnamate), DMDM and Imidazolidnyl Urea, FD & C Colour Pigments, Triclosan, certain Fragrances, and certain Mineral Oils.
